SophieSMC Scanner — MT5 indicator
The brain that reads structure.
SophieSMC Scanner watches your chart, detects Smart Money Concepts setups with strict rules, scores each candidate 0–100, and publishes a complete trade plan — entry, stop loss, take profit, and real risk-to-reward. It analyzes the chart in front of it. It does not place trades, predict prices, or promise profits.

Detection
What the Scanner actually detects
Every detection below is implemented in the indicator's source code. If it isn't on this list, the product doesn't claim to do it.
Fair value gaps — strict 3-candle detection
A gap only counts when candle 3's low sits above candle 1's high (bullish) with a true displacement candle in between — the mirror for bearish. Loose imbalances are ignored.
Inverse FVG — break, retest, rejection
An iFVG is only declared after the full FVG box fails, is retested, and rejects. Lower timeframes cannot create an iFVG on their own.
Order blocks
Detected as their own setup type — an order block is never mislabelled as an FVG.
BOS / CHoCH structure reading
Higher-high / higher-low versus lower-high / lower-low structure votes, read from the chart's own swing structure. These are internal heuristics in MQL5 — no external AI, no LLM.
Liquidity sweeps
Buy-side and sell-side liquidity labels on their own lane, with sweep announcements when price raids a pool.
Consolidation detection
Range compression is identified and can be boxed on the chart (display off by default) so you see when the market is storing energy instead of trending.
Breakout watch — coach only
The Scanner watches breakouts and notes them in the coach panel — but breakout trade setups are off by default. A breakout is not an FVG, and the product refuses to treat it like one.
Workflow
H4 / H1 → M15 → M5
One job per timeframe — the same way a disciplined trader reads a chart.
H4 · H1
Directional bias
Higher-timeframe bias steers the setup's primary direction; a setup fighting H4+H1 consensus never becomes a plan.
M15
The main FVG box
M15 finds the gap, saves the box, and runs the quality score. This is where plans are born — or rejected.
M5
The tap observation
M5 watches how price meets the box: clean tap confirms the direction; failure flips the setup to an iFVG — break, retest, rejection, then entry.
The plan
A plan you can actually grade
When a setup survives every gate, it appears on the live dashboard panel with coaching phrases that explain what the chart is doing — in plain language, not jargon fog.
Activation order
A plan only becomes real in strict order: confirmed entry, safe stop loss, risk distance, take profit, then a final RR check. Nothing is published out of sequence.
RR gates
Plans below 0.70 risk-to-reward are rejected outright. Plans between 0.70 and 0.99 are normalized to exactly 1.0R. Only plans at 1.0R or better are handed to SophieSMC X. A quality plan (60%+) with thin geometry doesn't die — its take profit is extended to exactly 1.0R.
0–100 quality score
Every candidate is scored on displacement, higher-timeframe bias, structure, premium-discount position, and liquidity. Below 60%, it never reaches you.
WAIT / BUY / SELL states
The dashboard panel states its conviction plainly. WAIT is a valid answer — on many days, it's the only honest one.
Closed candles only
Signals are evaluated on closed candles only — the Scanner never rewrites history. No repainting.
Consecutive-loss memory
When stops are hit, the Scanner remembers: after repeated stop-outs in one direction, same-direction FVGs are paused until fresh structure forms. It doesn't revenge-trade. Neither should you.
Honest limits
What the Scanner will NOT do
Marketing for trading tools is full of quiet exaggerations. These are the ones this product refuses to make.
It does not place trades
The Scanner draws chart objects only. It contains no order-sending code whatsoever. Execution belongs to SophieSMC X — and only when you enable it.
No gold-specific algorithms
The code contains zero XAUUSD or gold-specific logic; all handling is symbol-generic. It is used by XAUUSD traders, but it is not a 'gold-optimized engine.'
No news integration
There is no economic-calendar or news feed in the product. Major news is a reason to stay out — the Scanner won't warn you.
No support/resistance scanner
Support and resistance scanning was deliberately removed from the product. Any S/R talk is educational coaching phrasing, not a scanner.
No AI or machine learning
Everything labelled 'smart' is a deterministic heuristic and a rotating coach-phrase engine written in MQL5. No LLM, no external intelligence.
No session filter
The indicator has no session gating. It reads whatever session is on your chart — including the ones you might prefer to skip.
Complete the loop — the Memory.
The Scanner finds the setups; X runs them. The Sophie Journal keeps the record: every trade in one place, automatic trade recording via X Journal Sync (rolling out), the intelligent calendar with pace-to-goal and overtrading flags, coaching notes — plus Sophie Coach, the weekly news magazine for the week ahead.
Start with the brain.
The Scanner works fully standalone — no executor required. Add X later when you want approved plans executed with discipline.
Trading involves substantial risk.
SophieSMC software is an analytical and trade-management tool, not financial advice. Past performance — of any trader, system, or backtest — does not guarantee future results. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
